Level 9 State Champion

Home of the first ever Western National Qualifier from El Paso!

"What a season these IGC Optional Gymnasts are having!"

It started in January with our Level 8 gymnast Isabel Peralta moving up to Level 9 at a virtual meet and winning the Vault and Floor titles. To qualify to State, our gymnasts attended the Rock Solid Invitational in Lubbock, Tx. Level 6 gymnasts Monserrat Osorio and Danielle Mata were first and second in the All Around respectively. There, we had three level 6, one level 7 and three Level 9 gymnasts qualify to State Championships.

The Level 6 State Championships were held in Allen, Tx. Two of our gymnasts (Jazelle Gonzalez and Monserrat Osorio) became Floor State Champions! Monse Osorio was also the All Around runner-up with only .025 behind first place scoring a 37.850. Such a big accomplishment for our Level 6 competitors!

The Level 9 State Championship was held in Lubbock, Tx. Our competitive gymnasts at that meet were Valentina Osorio, Karina Granado, and Anna Victoria Gonzalez. Valentina came out with the All Around win scoring a 37.125, which was a first time accomplishment from any Level 9 gymnast from El Paso! We had two of our gymnasts (Victoria and Valentina) qualify from El Paso to Regionals, also for the first time!

The Level 7 State Championship was held in Katy, Tx near Houston. Alysa Gunter also managed to qualify to Regionals, which will be held in Aurora Colorado May 1st.

The Level 9 Regionals were also held in Lubbock, Tx. Victoria obtained medals on Beam and Floor, and Valentina on Bars, Beam and was able to qualify to the Western National Championships! This is the biggest goal that a Level 9 gymnast from El Paso has ever accomplished!
